No Arrest in Theft of Binghamton Government Computer
Binghamton detectives have not tracked down the man who stole a city government computer from an official vehicle.
Investigators are continuing to check possible leads in connection with Thursday's incident.
The Dell laptop computer was taken from a City of Binghamton vehicle while it was parked at the Holiday Inn on Hawley Street.
Detectives have reviewed a video recording of the incident as part of the investigation. The recording has not been made public but an investigator said it eventually could be released.
A City Hall spokesman said officials did not believe the government-owned computer contained any confidential information pertaining to residents.
The spokesman said passwords to the computer were reset remotely.
A person who answered the telephone at the city information services office told a reporter "we have no comment about that" before hanging up.
