Night Work Continues on Rt. 17/I81 in Binghamton Through June
Night time construction work on the highways around Prospect Mountain will be continuing for several weeks, resulting in lane closures.
The New York State Department of Transportation says a contractor working on concrete repair and rehabilitation on New York State Route 17 and Interstate 81 between Airport Road in the Town of Dickinson through the 17/81 split in Binghamton is continuing the project at night.

The work was supposed to be finished a few weeks ago but the contractor asked for an extension.
Motorists can expect lane closures on State Route 17 and possibly on portions of Interstate 81 between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. on weeknights through the end of this month.
As per the NYSDOT:
Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
