In an afternoon game at the Events Center the Niagara Purple Eagles downed the Binghamton Bearcats in women's basketball 63-52.  With the win Niagara gets its first victory of the season.  They are now 1-3. The Bearcats'  loss drops their record to 1-3 as well.

Victoria Rampada notched a double-double for Niagara.  She scored 16 points and snared 11 rebounds.  Jasmine Sina hit five three-pointers for 15 points to lead the Bearcats offensively.  Also in double figures for BU was Gintare Surdokaite with a 10 point performance.

The Bearcats were only able to hit 29 per cent of their shots but still were within three points of the lead with just over 16 minutes left in the second half.  But the Purple Eagles took control of the game from there utilizing a 16-2 run to put the game out of reach.

Binghamton travels to St. John's on Friday for another 2 PM start.  Then BU will stay on the road to play at St. Bonaventure this Sunday at 1 PM.
