Representatives of the New York State Comptroller’s office are coming to Binghamton to see if they have some money for local residents.

Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli oversees more than 37 million unclaimed fund accounts worth $15 billion.

The office will be at Blues on the Bridge September 10 from noon to 8 p.m.

The unclaimed funds could be stocks, idle bank accounts or unclaimed refunds and settlements.

Some money has been sitting in the state vaults since the 1940s.

DiNapoli says New York returns over $1.5 million a day across the state but wants to get more money to its rightful owner.

If you can’t make it to the event on Riverside Drive and Water Street, you can call 1-800-221-9311 or on the online search site at www.ouf.osc.state.ny.us
