New York Comptroller: ‘Immigration Ban is Not Who We Are.’
New York’s top financial officer is criticizing the latest version of a block on travelers from mainly Muslim countries.
State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli issued a statement saying President Donald Trump’s new Executive Order still “cuts into who we are as Americans and New Yorkers.”
DiNapoli last year issued a report on the immigrant population in New York and found about 4.4% of the state’s population is made up of immigrants, well above the national average and accounted for $257 billion in economic activity just in New York City.
