The former operator of a Binghamton dance studio that had been sentenced to 12 years to life in prison for sexually abusing a girl will get a new trial.

A New York State Appeals Court has ordered a new trial for 36 year old Samantha Stone, ruling hearsay testimony should not have been allowed in the last trial.

Stone was convicted of predatory sexual assault against a child in 2013.  She had been accused of sexually abusing a girl under the age of 13 over five years, starting in 2003.

Stone had owned Creative Dance Elements on Water Street, Binghamton.
