The Arena in downtown Binghamton looks a bit different with the installation of temporary signage with its new official name.

The building across from the Governmental Plaza has been known as the Visions Federal Credit Union Veterans Memorial Arena for the past couple of months.

Maines Paper and Food Service acquired naming rights for the venue in 2014. The company went out of business last year and its contract for the Arena name expired.

Workers with Matzo Electric Signs of Binghamton removed the old lettering on the north side of the building on Tuesday.

Arena manager Chris Marion said temporary exterior signs were put up on Wednesday. The permanent signs are expected to be installed by May.

Additional sign work with the new name will occur inside the building over the next several weeks.

Marion said Visions is paying for the new signage at the building.
