Broome County reports 97 new cases of the coronavirus overnight October 14 while issuing another advisory for a possible exposure site.

Broome has noted 167 new positive tests for COVID 19 since the Sunday report and added two deaths for a total of 85. Of the total 2,606, 640 of those are active. That’s 31 fewer active cases than reported on October 14.

The Health Department says anyone who was at the Arby’s on Upper Front Street October 2 to the 8th for more than 10 minutes between 3:30 and 11 p.m. should self-quarantine for 14 days from the date they were at the business.

Elsewhere around the Southern Tier, Chenango County reports ten new cases for a total of 290 and seven deaths. Cortland County added 32 cases for a total of 543 and one death. Delaware County is unchanged at 137 cases and eight deaths and Tioga County added 20 new cases overnight Wednesday for 408 total positive tests for COVID-19 and 28 deaths.

New York State is continuing to struggle with the hot spot zones downstate in small communities as well as the Yellow Zone outbreaks in areas like Broome County.  The state reported 1,460 new cases in the October 15 update and 13 additional deaths.
