New Jersey Fugitive Tries Skipping Bridge to Cross Delaware River
Delaware County Sheriff’s officials say they had to fish a New Jersey couple out of the East Branch of the Delaware River Saturday, June 25 after they hit a deep spot while trying to drive across the river.
To make matters worse for the pair, Deputies found 30-year-old Brian Ollin of Lavallette was wanted on a warrant for a felony drug charge.
It’s not clear why the couple decided to try to take their Toyota Tacoma pickup truck across the river without using a bridge.
The truck became partially submerged and disabled in the dep water under the Corbett Bridge.
There were no injuries
Olin was charged with being a fugitive from justice and sent to the Delaware County jail to be held without bail, waiting to be picked up by New Jersey law enforcement authorities.
