The last person to walk on the surface of the moon was U.S. Astronaut Eugene Cernan in December of 1972, as Apollo 17 ended the three years of exploration on the satellite.

The new program is called Artemis, and NASA is looking at privately owned companies  SpaceX, Blue Orgin or Dynetics to get us there.

The Kopernik Observatory and Science Center will stream a special presentation through there YouTube channel tonight at 7pm, featuring Patricia Moore, a communication strategist for the NASA Artemis Program.

Moore will reveal plans for the future mission, that will return us to the moon, and she will be available to answer questions from the audience.

This is a great way to find out about the return to the moon after nearly 50 years.

The presentation starts at 7pm tonight March 5th on the Kopernik YouTube channel
