Names Released in Fatal Wrong-Way Crash on Route 17 in Kirkwood

 New York State Police are releasing the names of the drivers killed in a wrong-way crash on Route 17 in Kirkwood February 5.

Authorities say 50-year-old Douglas Parker II of Hallstead, Pennsylvania was driving westbound in the eastbound lanes at around 11:20 p.m. when his sport utility vehicle collided with another SUV, driven by 27-year-old Brooke Seidel of Windsor in spite of the woman attempting to make evasive maneuvers.

Both drivers were killed while a three-year-old and four-year-old in Seidel’s vehicle suffered face and head injuries.  Two other passengers in the Windsor woman’s vehicle, a 29-year-old Windsor man and a 1-year-old infant, were not hurt.

Troopers say their investigation is continuing.
