The AP is reporting that Netflix has been flooded with new subscribers, so with social distancing coupled with record high heat this weekend, here are my 5 favorite Netflix series.

According to the Associated Press Netflix has just added about 10 million new subscribers which brings them to approximately 193 million worldwide, wow that’s a lot of movie and TV viewers.

The big spike is happening in the midst of the worst pandemic we have seen in the last 100 years, but I have to give credit to the writers, producers and amazing actors that contribute to the lineup on this popular streaming channel.

I thought I’d weigh in on a few of my favorites in case you're looking to hibernate inside the coolness of your air-conditioned home this weekend.

My Five favorite Netflix series.

Outlander: Not that I need a reason to watch this series, but I am drawn to movies and shows about time travel and this one is well written with extremely good acting, there is violence and nudity, but after five seasons the story of Jamie and Claire is still going.

Space Force: Two big reasons I love this series, Steve Carell and John Malkovich, and its funny, the story is about the space program and the branch of the military they call Space Force.

House of Cards: We all know that corruption exists in politics, but this series show a very dark side of the presidency, Kevin Spacey and Robin Penn are amazing as well as the supporting actors. It was the first original  Netflix series running six seasons and still one of the best.

Dead to Me: Probably the most bizarre turn of events any series could have, Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini are amazing in this tale that just keeps twisting.

Ozark: You’ll be hooked from the first episode, Jason Bateman and Laura Linney take you and their family on an intense journey to the Ozarks, supporting actress Julia Garner is incredible, can’t wait for season four, you will love this series.

I would recommend any of these series for a binge watching weekend or beyond, so stay safe, stay cool and enjoy!
