Multiple Injuries in Head-On Crash in Downtown Binghamton
Three ambulances were sent to the scene of a collision involving three vehicles on Court Street in downtown Binghamton.
The crash happened just west of State Street late Thursday afternoon as Binghamton University students were participating in the annual bar crawl event.
A westbound Toyota sport utility vehicle crossed over a double yellow line and collided head-on with an eastbound minivan. A pickup truck then rear-ended the minivan.
A fire department official said ambulances were dispatched to the scene at 4:22 p.m. He said the department's ambulance and a rig from Superior Ambulance transported people to local hospitals.
Medics from the Broome Volunteer Emergency Squad evaluated another person at the scene.
It appeared no students were involved in the crash.
Court Street was closed between State and Hawley streets until the vehicles could be removed from the scene.
It was not known whether police planned to issue tickets in connection with the crash.
