Few school budget proposals in the Southern Tier have been rejected by voters in May 19’s state-wide vote on education proposals.

In the Southern Tier, Walton’s $21 million  budget and a $23.5 million capital proposal to move the Townsend Elementary School failed.

Waverly’s budget passed but its $3 million capitol project was rejected.

Roxbury Central also had its capital plans fall but the budget pass in Delaware County and Tioga Central’s budget, carrying a 30% tax increase, was unable to get the super-majority needed to pass.
