Emergency Services officials say there have been no reports of injuries after Binghamton firefighters were called to Cortese Restaurant on the East Side for a fire.

The call came in shortly before 11 a.m. Monday, less than an hour before opening for the day and the fire was reported out by 11:10 a.m.

Robinson Street was closed off at Alice and Griswald Streets as firefighters worked at the scene.

That area was expected to be blocked off into the early afternoon while overhaul was underway and the cause of the fire investigated.

It was not clear how long restaurant operations may be impacted.
