Officials with Broome County Office for Aging in March had reported a need for volunteers before the onset of the emergency conditions stemming from the coronavirus pandemic.

Many volunteers for the program as well as the clients served by Meals on Wheels are in an older demographic that has been more adversely impacted by the deadly virus.

Program organizers say they are looking for anyone age 18 and older who would be available one or more days a week between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to deliver meals.

For information on becoming a driver or visitor, contact Meals on Wheels at (607) 778-6206.
