Maximum Sentence for Felony Assault

A Broome County man will spend seven years in prison after admitting his role in the shooting of another man in October of 2015.

28 year old Walter Andino was sentenced in Broome County Court August 11.  He had pleaded guilty to felony assault in the shooting of a 20 year old man in the area of Gerard Avenue and Murray Street.

Investigators say the two men had argued previously in the night and they believed the victim could have died as a result of the close-range shooting and that Andino had intended to kill the victim.
