A Binghamton woman is to spend the maximum time in prison for a drug-driven murder in which she and her boyfriend lived for two and a half weeks with the victim’s body while doing heroin in August of 2015.

39 year old Ariana Edwards has been sentenced to 25 years to life in prison for luring 38 year old Michael Thomas to a Mather Street apartment for a drug deal and, working with 31 year old Bradley Miles to murder him.

Prosecutors had earlier argued racism was also involved with Edwards bragging about targeting black drug dealers.

While Edwards apologized to Thomas’ family at sentencing, prosecutors say she never expressed remorse after the murder.

Authorities said Edwards had told Miles that Thomas had raped her to outrage him and drive him to help her kill the Binghamton father of four but police said it was Edwards who stabbed Thomas.

Miles has been sentenced to 30 years in prison.
