New York Governor Andrew Cuomo says state officials are reviewing the latest Covid-19 guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control.

Cuomo late Tuesday afternoon issued a statement responding to the CDC's major change in masking policy.

The revised guidance now recommends that people who have been fully vaccinated wear a mask indoors in public places in "areas of substantial or high transmission."

The governor indicated New York officials are going to work closely with federal and state health experts.

Cuomo's statement did not indicate when New York state's policy pertaining to masking might be revised.
