Manslaughter Appeal Turned Down

A 65 year old Tioga Center man will stay in jail for the fatal stabbing of another man in 2013.

The New York State Court of Appeals has rejected a claim that Douglas Every used justified lethal force when he killed Milton Jump at his home in October of 2013.

The majority of judges rejected the claim that Every felt threatened by Jump during a dispute that erupted after a night of drinking.

Every is serving 17 years for manslaughter.
