Members of the Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force say they have arrested a Binghamton man in connection with an investigation into the sale of heroin.

Authorities say they spotted 24 year old Raman Punter in the Johnson City Walmart parking lot December 13.

Punter ran off onto nearby railroad tracks where he was caught following a brief chase.

Authorities say they recovered heroin and crack cocaine that they say they saw Punter trying to discard as he fled.

Punter is charged with three felony counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, felony criminal sale of a controlled substance, felony tampering with evidence and misdemeanor resisting arrest.
