Man Pistol-Whipped in Binghamton Attempted Robbery
Binghamton police say a man was injured when he was attacked by three people as he tried to sell a vehicle.
The assault was reported around 8:20 p.m. Wednesday. It occurred on Conklin Avenue near South Washington Street.
Authorities say a 22-year-old man sustained a head laceration when he was pistol-whipped during an attempted robbery. They say an unknown type of handgun was used in the assault.
The injured man was taken to a hospital by Superior Ambulance. His condition was not released by police.
A canine unit was used in an effort to track the suspects, who fled the scene after attacking the man.
Investigators did not say what the men were trying to take in the attempted robbery.
