Man Indicted in Downtown Binghamton Killing
A Binghamton man has been named in a three-count indictment for a deadly attack involving a glass mug.
According to the Broome County District Attorney's Office, 42-year-old Miguel Manchion is accused of causing the death of Lazar Jones.
Manchion is believed to have assaulted the 51-year-old Jones with the glass mug, causing his death.
Police were called to an apartment house at 84 Pine Street on the morning of March 16 to investigate a report of an injured man. When officers arrived, they found Jones lying unresponsive on the front porch of the building.
Detectives said Jones was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Manchion has been indicted on two counts of manslaughter and one count of assault.
Investigators initially charged Manchion and 20-year-old Courtney Baldwin with murder in connection with the death of Jones. Baldwin has not been indicted
