Man Indicted for Murder in Binghamton West Side Shooting
A second man has been charged with murder in connection with the killing of a pedestrian in a drive-by shooting on the West Side of Binghamton.
24-year-old Akeem Daniels has been indicted on two felony charges by a Broome County grand jury. He faces counts of second-degree murder and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
Daniels is a suspect in the September 16 killing of 27-year-old Daequan Dickerson of Binghamton.
Dickerson was gunned down near American Legion Post 80 at 76 Main Street around 4:30 on a Sunday morning.
The indictment naming Daniels was unsealed in Broome County Court Friday.
Binghamton police had previously arrested 21-year-old Keyama St. Joy of Endicott as a result of their investigation into the shooting. St. Joy is being held on a charge of second-degree murder.
City detectives won't comment publicly about a motive in the killing.
