Police say two downtown Binghamton residents were tied up during an early-morning home invasion incident.

According to detectives, police were called to 48 Court Street at 4:51 a.m. Wednesday (March 16).

Authorities say a man and woman said two intruders forcibly entered their apartment. The man was assaulted and both residents were tied up with pillow cases placed over their heads.

The residents told investigators the intruders ransacked the apartment and then left with some property.

Police say the man was treated at a hospital for injuries to his head and face.

The intruders were described as two black men who appeared to be in their twenties. No clothing description was released.
