Authorities say police were called to the business at 210 Court Street around 2:40 a.m. Monday.

Officers were advised that the robbery occurred as a clerk was preparing to close the store. The clerk said a man wearing a mask entered the business and demanded money. He then fled.

A short time later, police stopped a suspect not far from the store.

Investigators say 48-year-old Jesus Flores of Rutherford Street was charged with third-degree robbery. He was arraigned in Binghamton city court and sent to Broome County Jail.

No injuries were reported in the incident. Police recovered the mask believed to have been worn by the robber.

No information was released on how much money was taken or whether it had been recovered.
