Man Arrested in Slashing on Washington Avenue in Endicott
An Endicott resident has been charged in connection a slashing incident in the village.
Authorities say 45-year-old Richard Suarez of 19 Washington Avenue is suspected of injuring a person around 10:30 p.m. June 14.
Detectives say Suarez allegedly used a knife to slash a 37-year-old man in the wrist area. They say the attack occurred at the NYC Deli at 2 Washington Avenue.
The injured man was taken to Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City where he was treated and released.
Suarez has been charged with second-degree assault. Investigators say he and the other man were acquainted with each other prior to the slashing.
Police did not indicate what may have prompted the attack or whether the knife used in the incident has been recovered.
Suarez was arraigned and ordered held at Broome County Jail without bail.
