Man Accused in Creature Comforts Refund Scam

A Binghamton man is accused of trying to get money from a Town of Chenango pet store by returning stolen merchandise.

52 year old William Rust allegedly tried to exchange items without a receipt at Creature Comforts November 14.

An employee checked the computer system and found the items were still listed in the inventory and contacted authorities.

Rust is charged with criminal possession of stolen property.

He’s been ordered to appear in Town of Chenango Court at a later date.
