The Endwell Democrat made her campaign announcement Thursday evening at a gathering of supporters at a fundraising event in the town of Union.

Lupardo faces no opposition in her bid for a sixth two-year Assembly term. She represents the 123rd Assembly District, which includes the city of Binghamton and the towns of Union and Vestal.

Lupardo says she's worked in the Assembly to ensure that "the needs of the Southern Tier are not overlooked."

During her time as a state legislator, Lupardo says she's assisted with the growth of Binghamton University and with efforts to secure more funding for local school districts.

Lupardo chairs the Assembly Committee on Children and Families.
