Longtime Southern Tier Educator Passes Away Suddenly
The former superintendent of the Chenango Forks School District has passed away. An obituary placed by the family says R. David Andrus died suddenly on Monday, December 28.
Andrus spent his entire career at the Forks, starting as a science teacher in 1959 and serving in a number of capacities, including High School principal, basketball coach and, finally, Superintendent of Schools.
Funeral Services are planned for Saturday, January 2 at 11 a.m. the William Chase & Son Funeral Home on Chenango Street in Port Dickinson.
Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital or Ogden Hillcrest United Methodist Church.
