Lingering Landslide Issues in Bradford County
A big pile of dirt continues to cause issues in the Northern Tier of Pennsylvania.
A land-slide on Leona Road in Troy Township closed down a portion of Route 4017 in the fall of 2018. Traffic is being detoured using Route 6, Route 14 and Springfield Road.
The slide was to be repaired last March but was work was postponed as the land slide continued to progress.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation says slide remediation, which includes excavation, replacement of rock and reconstruction of a section of the roadway, is resuming this week. The $2-million repair is expected to be completed in September.
Meanwhile, the detour that was put in place in 2018 will remain while the repair work is being done.
