The Broome County Department of Parks, Recreation and Youth Services is getting set for the next big event to move into Otsiningo Park now that Spiedie Fest has cleared out.

The safe, family-friendly Halloween event: Trunk-or-Treat is being held this weekend and the Parks Department is putting the wrapper on those who want to have an open trunk to hand out treats.

Businesses and groups that want to participate have until October 13 to sign up. Agencies, businesses, non-profits and organizations with treats will set up in the west parking lot of the park in the Town of Dickinson.

The event takes place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, October 17.

Admission is free. Participants both handing out and receiving candy are encouraged to wear masks.

Go to gobroomecounty.com/parks/trunkortreat or call (607) 778-2193 for more information on the rules and to sign up to provide treats.
