Knicks Down Wolves 103-99

The New York Knicks pulled to within one game of 500 with a 103-99 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves last night.

The win was the Knicks fourth victory in the last five games, and puts them in seventh place in the Eastern Conference.

New York has a comfortable 21 point lead in the third quarter, but went flat as the Wolves attacked and Karl-Anthony Towns led the failed comeback with 27 points.

The Knicks leading scorer Julius Randall had another double double with 25 points and 14 rebounds, and helped fend off the Timberwolves, with a couple of free throws to seal the victory.

RJ Barrett had 21 points to help the Knicks improve to 15-16, just a half game behind the Boston Celtics, and a game behind the Toronto Rapters.

The Knicks will welcome fans back to the worlds most famous arena tomorrow night as they host the Golden State Warriors with a 7:30p tip off, the second game in a four game home stand.

The win was the first for coach Tom Thibodeau against his former team.

The Minnesota Timberwolves fell to the leagues worst record at 7-24, and fired Thibodeau’s replacement head coach Ryan Saunders after last nights loss.

FYI: There is no timeline for the return of Knicks center Mitchell Robinson as he recovers from surgery on a broken hand.
