Binghamton Mets catcher Kevin Plawecki has been on fire.  In his first season at the Double-A level Plawecki has played in 58 games and is batting .326 which is eighth-best in the Eastern League.

Plawecki is being rewarded for his efforts by being selected to participate in the Futures Game which will be played on Sunday, July 13 at Target Field in Minneapolis as part of Major League Baseball's All-Star Week.

Former B-Met pitcher Noah Syndergaard will also participate.  Both will play for the US Team versus the SiriusXM All-Stars.  This is the 16th year for the Futures Game which puts the top prospects in baseball on center stage during the All-Star week festivities .

Along with his .326 average, Plawecki has hit six home runs, 18 doubles and driven in 43 runs.  He is a 2012 draft pick out of Purdue University.
