Judge Joseph Hestor Passes Away

Funeral services will be held September 30 for a former Broome County Family Court and New York State Supreme Court Judge.  The Honorable Joseph Hester Junior passed away September 26.  He was 78.

Family was to receive friends September 29 at J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home in Binghamton from 4 to 7 p.m. A funeral mass was set to be held at 9:30 a.m. September 30 at Saint Patrick’s Church at the corner of Oak and Leroy Streets in Binghamton.

According to a paid obituary, Judge Hester practiced family law for 25 years before becoming a Broome County Family Court Judge and a New York State Supreme Court Justice.

The Binghamton native was a past President of Binghamton City Council, a former Chairman of the Broome County Republican Party and a board member of Catholic Social Services among additional volunteer interests.
