The New York Mets are simply a bad baseball team no other way to put it.  They have not won a series in over three weeks now and no part of their team is good or consistent on a daily basis.  Their two aces Max Scherzer and Justin Verlander have not nearly been good enough and Kodai Senga has really been their only steady starter each time he takes the mound.  The Mets will be getting Jose Quintana back in early July which is good news.  They traded for him in the offseason and although he hasn't made a start for them yet, he is very talented and posted a low ERA last season.  The Mets offense has to be better as well as too many guys have low batting averages and haven't stepped up when needed to.

MJ and I were joined by our ESPN baseball analyst Tim Kurkjian earlier this morning as we are every Friday right here on Big Board Sports.  Tim believes the Mets will still be fine especially with Quintana coming back soon.  But he does agree with us that they need to start playing better and fast with the all star break fast approaching.

The NL East isn't getting any easier and manager Buck Showalter needs to start getting more out of his players otherwise this season could go from bad to worse.  I want to see the Mets do good as it is good for the MLB.  They have no excuses however with the talent on their roster and the biggest payroll in the entire league too.
