Three Winning Lottery Tickets Sold in New York’s Southern Tier
It's always exciting when local lottery winners are announced, and it seems that the Southern Tier has been quite fortunate recently with three big winners in recent lottery drawings with two winners in Broome County and one winner in Stuben County.
According to WIVT, someone who purchased a CASH4LIFE lottery ticket in the little Town of Maine, Broome County, is guaranteed to receive at least a million dollars. No further details about the winning ticket were available.

In addition to that, a second prize winning CASH4LIFE ticket was bought at Jay's One Stop on Commercial Drive in Johnson City, Broome County, on Saturday, December 23. This ticket is worth $1,000 a week for life and offers a guaranteed minimum prize of $1 million if taken in one lump sum.
The third lottery ticket was sold at a 7-Eleven store located in Wayland, Stuben County. That winning ticket was a third-prize-winning Poweball ticket worth $50,000. That ticket was for the Saturday, December 23 drawing.
The winners of each winning ticket have up to one year to come forward and claim their prize.
On another note, the Powerball jackpot has continued to grow and is now at an impressive $685 million. There were no winners for the Christmas draw, so the jackpot continues to roll over.

If you are lucky enough to win the Powerball, it's important to understand that the advertised jackpot amount is not the amount you would take home. Taxes and the option to receive the prize as a lump sum or in annual payments can significantly affect the final amount.
