Yankee Stadium just got some bragging rights. A new study ranked it as the fourth-best sports stadium in the entire country. TicketSource looked at things like how many sporting events each stadium hosts, how many people it can fit, Google review scores, and how easy it is to get there. After adding it all up, Yankee Stadium came in strong and put New York right near the top.

What Helped Yankee Stadium Rank So High

Between 2021 and 2025, Yankee Stadium had 463 sporting events, which is one of the highest numbers on the list. It seats over 46,000 fans, which isn’t the biggest in the country, but it's enough to pack in a loud crowd.

The stadium also has a great Google review rating of 4.7 out of 5, showing that people  enjoy being there. It’s about two tenths of a mile from the nearest rail station, making it easy for fans who want to take the train instead of fighting the traffic. Even without shuttle service, it still scores an 8.05 out of 10 overall.

New York Doubles Up With Another Top Stadium

Yankee Stadium isn’t the only New York venue to make the list. Madison Square Garden also ranked in the top five, landing in fifth. MSG has  hosted more sporting events than Yankee Stadium, with 650 in the same time frame. It seats just over 20,000 people and has the same 4.7 Google rating. It scored 7.95 out of 10 overall, which shows just how strong New York is when it comes to iconic venues.

Who Ranked Above New York?

Three stadiums managed to edge out Yankee Stadium. In first place is Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, thanks to its massive seating capacity, great reviews, and easy access to rail. Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts came in second, with its shuttle service and strong attendance. Lambeau Field in Wisconsin landed in third place and has the highest Google rating of all the stadiums in the top ten.

What Stands Out About the Competition

Some stadiums made the list for different reasons. Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles had the most sporting events overall, with 856 between 2021 and 2025. The Rose Bowl didn’t make the top ten, but it still holds the title of the largest seating capacity, with room for more than 89,000 fans. Even MetLife Stadium in New Jersey made it into the top ten at number nine, with a capacity of 82,500.

A Win for New York Fans

Whether you're a die hard Yankees fan or just someone who loves going to a game in the Bronx, it’s nice to know the rest of the country recognizes what locals already knew that New York does stadiums right. If you want to see the entire list of the best stadiums in the USA, go here.
