
REPORT: Broome County Schools Ranked by Graduation Rate
New data released by the state Education Department has provided insights into the graduation rates of schools across New York, including those in Broome County.
18 schools in New York State boasted an impressive graduation rate with 100% of all students walking across the stage to receive their diploma in 2024.
While none of the schools in Broome County achieved a 100% graduation rate in 2024, several came close. In Broome County, every school district listed by the New York State Education Department had a graduation rate of at least 70% in 2024.
Top Performing Schools in Broome County
Leading the pack in Broome County were Vestal and Windsor school districts, both achieving a commendable graduation rate of 93%, ranking them at 208 in New York State. Following closely behind were Maine-Endwell at 89% (ranked 370), Susquehanna Valley at 88% (ranked 406), and Chenango Valley at 87% (ranked 442).
Continual Commitment to Academic Success
Further down the list, Chenango Forks (86%), Deposit (85%), Whitney Point (84%), Johnson City (83%), Harpursville (80%), Union-Endicott (79%), and Binghamton schools (70%)
Stable Statewide Trends
The graduation rates show how many students who started ninth grade in 2020 finished high school by August 2024. The average graduation rate for the whole state stayed the same as in 2023 at 86%, which means the graduation rates in New York State are steady.

A Bright Future
While achieving a 100% graduation rate is an ambitious goal, the results from Broome County schools indicate a nice commitment to academic success and student achievement.
