Ronnie Winter, lead singer of the group The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, is making headlines after posting a pointed message to fans who support President Donald Trump.

In a video recently shared on Instagram, Winter didn’t hold back, especially when addressing Christians who align with the MAGA movement.

If you’re a Christian and you’re watching this and you voted for Donald Trump, shame on you,” Winter said. You are not allowed to come to my shows. I don’t want you there.” He even went so far as to disown the band's biggest hit, “Face Down,” for Trump supporters, saying plainly, “It is not your song.”

No Room for MAGA Now or Ever

Winter’s message wasn’t a passing comment. He doubled down, saying his ban on Trump supporters attending his shows is permanent, not just political posturing during an election season. “Forever, don’t come,” he said. “You’re going to hear a lot of woke propaganda and the actual words of Jesus.

His tone was unapologetically blunt. “You’re just going to see a lot of harmony. That’s not what you’re about,” Winter added.

Timing Sparks Bigger Conversation

The post comes just weeks before The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus is scheduled to perform at the Great New York State Fair. The Florida based band is slated to take the Chevy Court stage on Monday, August 25, at 6 p.m., a show that’s free with fair admission and expected to draw a big crowd.

A History of Taking a Stand

This isn’t Winter’s first time speaking out on social issues. In a 2020 interview with Alternative Press, he opened up about his progressive views and his commitment to supporting marginalized communities, especially within faith spaces.

We have the recognition by some people, some, not a lot, in the Christian community that the LGBTQ community has been treated unfairly from the beginning. I love it,” he said at the time. The only person I want to look up to me is my son... I want him to know that [hatred] is not what Jesus said.

Winter also criticized how religion has been twisted over the years to justify “fear, racism and bigotry,” calling for unity and love. “That unity is God,” he said. “He wanted us all to come together.”

What This Means for the NYS Fair Show

It’s unclear how Winter’s comments will affect attendance at his upcoming concert as the New York State Fair is welcoming of all people from all backgrounds and affiliations, but it’s clear he’s not backing down.

Fans who disagree with his message may find themselves questioning whether to attend. Others who share his beliefs may feel even more drawn to the show.
