New York Accent Is One of America’s Favorite AI Voices

If you could choose how your AI assistant sounds, a lot of Americans would pick a New York accent. A new survey found the New York City accent is the second most popular AI voice people want to hear. Only the Southern accent ranked higher.

People Like the Sound of New York

The survey asked more than 3,000 people across the country about AI voices. Many said the New York accent sounds confident, clear, and straight to the point. They like that it feels smart and gets right to the answer.

People Also Trust the New York Accent

The New York accent also ranked second when people were asked which AI voice they would trust the most. For important topics like money and finances, the New York accent tied for second place with BBC English. A neutral Midwestern accent came in first.

Most People Want AI to Sound Like a Real Person

The survey found that most people want AI voices to sound more human. About 75 percent said they would rather hear a voice that sounds like a real person instead of a robot. About 63 percent also said they would like AI to use an accent that matches where they live.

New York's Accent Stands Out

The New York accent is known all over the country, and many people enjoy hearing it.
