New York Loves “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving”

For many of us, when times get a little tough, we think back to simpler times that brings us a smile. One of the things for me would be the Charlie Brown holiday specials. I have a special place in my heart for Charlie because I was him in my high school play.

They said that I was typecast and I don't have a problem with that...mainly because it is probably true. So when I saw this new study that looked at Google search trends to see which Peanuts holiday special each state loves the most, it caught my attention

Charlie Brown Is New York’s Favorite Character

For New York, the winner is “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving.” It’s the classic that many of families in the Empire State go back to every year. The study also looked at  which Peanuts character each state searches for the most. In New York, the top spot goes to Charlie Brown (YEA) himself. Even with Snoopy, Linus, and Lucy in the mix, the state still sticks with the kid in the yellow zigzag shirt.

How the Study Worked

The researchers used Google Trends data from September 2024 through September 2025. They compared searches for each Peanuts holiday special and each character to find the favorite in every state.
