What’s Pending for These 5 Empty Triple Cities Businesses
2024 has seen quite a bit of activity in the Southern Tier with new businesses popping up, and that's a good thing.
It's perfect when new businesses move into formerly empty storefronts. To name a few, the Parkway Plaza has filled empty storefronts with the Boot Barn, Dress for Less, and Jo Ann Fabrics. Several businesses (and more to come) have filled empty spaces at the former Oakdale Mall, including Dick's House of Sport, BJ's Wholesale, and Dave & Busters.

Even retail dispensaries are dotting the landscape in our community. A recent look at the New York State Economic Development for Adult-Use Retail Dispensaries & Registered Organizations shows five pending locations in the Triple Cities, to add to six active locations.
Three of the pending locations are in the Binghamton area (one is set to open), and two are in the Endicott area. These locations are only listed as pending on the website, and may or may not move forward. For more information on each location, visit the NYS Data website, which states that the information provided is for informational purposes only and is provided on an “as is” basis.
The locations listed on the NYS dispensary website, which all appeared to be empty storefronts when searched on Google Maps (although this may change) include:
156 Main Street, Binghamton
Located at the corner of Main and Jarvis Street, Binghamton, and has been the home of several businesses over the years, including a bank.
1143 Upper Front Street, Binghamton

75 Court Street, Binghamton
This location is the former A&W Restaurant, and as our WNBF News Team reported on October 22nd, 2024, this is about to become the Cotton Mouth Dispensary. For more on the story, click HERE.
