Chenango Forks Welcomes UK Students For Soccer Scrimmages

If you like the sport of soccer as a spectator or as a player, you won't want to miss an upcoming week of events in Chenango Forks.

The Chenango Forks School District is proud to announce a series of soccer scrimmages at the high school's Blue Devils Stadium from August 14th through the 18th, 2024.

Scrimmages will feature students from Harvey Grammar School in Folkestone, England, with the goal of fostering friendship, cultural exchange, and competitive spirit between the students of the two schools. It's a great opportunity for students from both countries and will be fun to watch the matches.

We are thrilled to host the students from Harvey Grammar School and provide our community with an opportunity to witness high-quality soccer. The soccer matches will be open to the public. The community is encouraged to come out to watch some great soccer matches and support the teams.

The week's schedule of matches is as follows:

● August 14 at 4:00 PM - Harvey Grammar vs. BC United
● August 15 at 9:00 AM - Harvey Grammar vs. Chenango Forks
● August 15 at 10:30 AM - Harvey Grammar vs. Maine Endwell
● August 16 at 1:00 PM - Harvey Grammar vs. SUNY Broome
● August 17 at 11:00 AM - Harvey Grammar vs. Binghamton University
● August 18 at 11:00 AM - Harvey Grammar vs. Susquehanna Valley

According to the announcement from the Chenango Forks Central School District, "The Harvey Grammar School is a selective 11–18 boys’ grammar school with a history dating back to 1674. The school is known for its potent mix of bright, well-motivated pupils and highly qualified, experienced staff."
