Stop me if you heard this before -  "It's like a bull in a Tractor Supply." Yea, I know, it's supposed to be "Like a bull in a china shop." But that's not the case here, and it's a true story. Have you ever stood in a check-out line while a bull is in front of you paying for purchases? Well, I have, and I've got pictures to prove it.

I took an extended weekend recently. As I always do, my wife and I spend our time off (and this time our wedding anniversary) at camp in the beautiful Endless Mountains of Northeastern Pennsylvania.

We take many trips into the Towanda, Pennsylvania area to shop and dine. Well, on the day of our anniversary, one of our stops was to get gas for my camp lawn mower. As I was filling up the container, I noticed across the street, a crowd of people at the Tractor Supply surrounding what appeared to be a cowboy on top of a bull. It reminded me of the scene in the movie 'Blazing Saddles' when the character Mongo rode into the town of Rock Ridge on a bull.

Well, we just had to drive over there to see what was going on. Turns out the Monroeton, Pennsylvania Rodeo was happening that day. (Monroeton is a community just south of Towanda)  And the bull and its team were visiting a few places around town to promote the rodeo.

Funny thing, my wife made the employees of Tractor Supply a bit nervous when she mentioned that they were all wearing red vests. And we know how bulls love anything red. Cowboy Dan pointed out that is just bull.

The bull's name is Gus. He is a Brahman (or Brahma) bull. Dan, the cowboy says he weighs 1,850 pounds. An online search says a bull generally weighs between 1,500 to 2,400 pounds.

Anyway, we got a couple of pictures of Gus the Bull and Dan the Cowboy, then proceeded inside to make a couple of purchases. Well, apparently Gus did as well. Can you imagine watching a large bull walking through the aisles of a store while trying to get out of his way?

And when I reached the check-out line, guess what? The Gus the Bull was in front of me with Cowboy Dan checking out some purchases. I did my best to give the back end of the bull some space.  But then we realized that Gus the Bull didn't have a credit card so we knew he couldn't charge. (Sorry.)

So, can I assume I am one of only a few, or maybe the only person in the world to wait in a checkout line behind a rodeo bull? Wow, what an honor!

Gus the Bull and Cowboy Dan were also spotted at the drive-up window of the local Mcdonald's. Was it a threat that if Gus didn't behave, he could become a Big Mac? Sorry for the jokes, they came from my wife. Well, I guess I can't say my wedding anniversary was uneventful. And that's no bull. Okay, I'll stop now.
