Unbelievable. 3 billion dollars a year. That's the average amount of money spent each year to repair vehicles due to potholes in the USA according to Quote Wizard.

That's a lot of money. But as you know, especially for those of us who live in the northeast part of the country, potholes are a part of life, no matter what the season. Although early spring is the worst with temperature changes and more potholes appearing.

I can attest to that every day. On my way to work and on my way back home on a different route, I have learned exactly where certain potholes are to avoid. From time to time, I am distracted and run over one. Nothing like jarring the brain cells I have left after hitting a pothole. Not to mention what it's doing to my tires and vehicle in general.

Quote Wizard notes that the damage from potholes can include tire and wheel rim damage, throwing off the alignment, shock, and struct damage, plus exhaust and even engine damage.

Looking at cities with the most pothole issues, Quote Wizard ranks from five to one - #5 - Seattle, Washington,  #4 - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania,  #3- Yakima, Washington, #2 - Spokane, Washington and at number one, Nashville, Tennessee.
