Local Charities Receive Big Boost From Subaru Share The Love
Thursday, May 14, 2026, Matthews Subaru will present checks to three local charities at their location on Old Vestal Road in Vestal.
The presentation is a result of the annual Subaru ‘Share the Love’ initiative. This year's recipients will be The Broome County Humane Society, YWCA of Binghamton, and Meals on Wheels of Western Broome.
Congratulations To The 3 Local Agencies
These three important local agencies will receive a check for the following amount:
- Broome County Humane Society - $14,087
- YWCA of Binghamton - $5,462
- Meals on Wheels of Broome County - $3,812
According to the announcement from Matthews Subaru, the ‘Share the Love’ ran from November 2025 through January 2026. Subaru of America donated $250 per vehicle for each new Subaru sold or leased, and an additional $50 per vehicle was added by Matthews Subaru to the customer’s choice of 4 national charities, including Make-A-Wish, National Parks Foundation, Meals on Wheels of America, and the ASPCA.
Dealers were also allowed to apply for a 5th and 6th local charity recipient; therefore, Matthews Subaru chose the BC Humane Society for the 12th consecutive year and the YWCA of Binghamton for a fourth year on the list of recipients.

A Bit About The Three Recipients
The BC Humane Society in Binghamton rescues, spays and neuters hundreds of dogs and cats each year. The facility also provides veterinary care, vaccinations, cremation services, and adoption services to area dogs and cats looking for a good home.
Meals on Wheels of Western Broome is a private not-for-profit dedicated to providing local seniors with nutritious, home-delivered meals and daily check-ins to ensure healthy independence.
The YWCA of Binghamton offers safe and secure emergency shelter for women and children, including transitional housing and long-term housing to victims and survivors of gender-based domestic and sexual violence, so they can avoid homelessness and rebuild their lives.
