New Yorkers Have Just 10 Weeks to Prepare for This Rush
The Halloween season is in full swing. Well, it's been that way since at least August, I think.
But you know what that means once the calendar turns from October 31st to November 1st. Yes, the holiday season takes over. Oh, wait, the Christmas decorations are already in the stores, infringing on the Halloween season.
What a crazy, busy time of the year. And with all that, you should now be thinking about holiday shipping schedules if you plan on mailing out holiday cards and gifts this year. No one wants their gift to arrive after the holiday season.

The U.S. Postal Service has already set the 2024 schedule for getting those cards and gifts out on time and to their destination before the holidays hit for Hanukkah (Dec. 25–Jan. 2), Christmas (Dec. 25), Kwanzaa (Dec. 26–Jan. 1), and other holiday traditions.
Here are recommended send-by dates for expected delivery before December 25th, excepting Alaska and Hawaii according to the USPS:
For Packages Sent To The Lower 48 States
- For Ground Advantage and First Class Mail Services - mail by December 18th
- For Priority Mail Service - mail by December 19th
- For Priority Mail Express Service - mail by December 21st
For Packages For Military Mail
APO/FPI/DPO AE ZIPS - 090, 091, 092, 093, 094, 095, 096, 097, 098, 099, 340, 962, 963, 964, 965 & 966
- For Ground Advantage - mail by November 4th
- For First Class Mail Services and Priority Mail Service - mail by December 9th
- For Priority Mail Express Military Service - mail by December 16th, except for 093 (N/A)
The USPS advises that the earlier you send, the better: Don’t delay, mail and ship today!
