Do you remember back when recalls were few and far between? Now, we don't go through even a week without a laundry list of recalls. And I imagine there are some laundry-related recalls somewhere in there as well!

On one of my radio features each week, we bring up a few recalls for consumers to be aware of, Unfortunately, almost every week, one recall is related to children's products from cribs to toys to blankets, and the list goes on.

Another is the seeming list of foods that contain listeria. No one wants to have to deal with that fallout. Automotive recalls are another thing we hear about frequently.

For example, in just the first 19 weeks of 2024, according to the website Motor1.com., it was noted in a May 16th article that the Ford Motor Company had released 25 recalls.

However, some of the recalls are for a small item, including 9 Mavericks having incorrect tire labels on the doorsills, and 385 2024 F-150 trucks being recalled due to incorrect fasteners used in the steering system, which could result in a steering failure.

The largest to date was the Explorer recall that affected almost 1.9 million 2011 to 2019 vehicles because of A-pill trim that could detach, as detailed in a January 2024 Motor1.com article.

Motor1.com states that as of May 19, 2024, the Ford Motor Company had recalled almost 3 million vehicles over the 19-week period. The U.S. Department of Transportation's National Highway Traffic Safety Administration keeps track of motor vehicle recalls.

There are plenty when you combine all motor company manufacturers. You can see the complete list of recalls from each manufacturer on the NHTSA website. It's important to keep on top of these recalls, no matter what the product is, for you and your family's safety.
