
Football Fever Hits As Local High School Teams Advance In Playoffs
It sure was an exciting weekend for New York State Section IV High School football teams, families, and fans! The New York State football championship 1st round games were played Friday through Sunday.
Section IV and Section III classes battled at Dick Hoover Stadium in Vestal and other venues with the hopes of moving on to the semi-final rounds this weekend.

Of the six class battles between Section III and IV, four out of six local teams have moved to the next round:

This Weekend's NYS High School Football Semi-Final Round Games
Section IV will be represented in four of the six classes this weekend:
Class A - Union Endicott will play Section V's Brighton at 6 p.m. Friday, November 28th, at Cicero-North High School.
Class B - Owego Free Academy is to face Section V's Monroe at 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 29th at Cicero-North High School.
Class C - Chenango Forks takes on Section VI's Chautauqua Lake/Westfield/Brocton at 12 p.m. on Saturday, November 29th at Cicero-North High School.
Class D - Tioga Central will take on Section VI's Newfane at 3 p.m. on Friday, November 28th, at Cicero-North High School.
